14 Sep Andaltec offers a new service to manufacture large format silicone mould prototypes
The Technological Centre for Plastics (Andaltec) has developed new technological capabilities to manufacture large format silicone moulds. The Prototypes Area has created a new procedure allowing to offer their customers the manufacture of parts weighing more than 15 kilograms and spanning more than 1 metre in length, always counting with excellent mechanical properties. These figures mean a very significant progress within the work carried out by the silicone mould team in Andaltec. These large format prototypes are very useful for sectors such as the automotive one, as it allows for car bumper manufacture, and other areas such as the railway or customised climate control installation ones.
Moreover, the technicians in the technological centre also provide technical support services leading to the cheapest manufacturing process, and the most suitable material to produce them. Therefore, they are adjusted as much as possible to the intended use for the prototype, as well as to the number of parts to be manufactured, obtaining the most efficient investment for the customer.
Andaltec also provides a comprehensive service for companies, intended to guarantee from the initial stages, much earlier than the actual manufacture and product market launch takes place, that the product is going be in compliance with its use specifications, making use of concept design, computer simulations, prototype manufacture and lab product validation, as well as providing technical support for short series manufacture or automatism design for large production volumes. The technological centre also counts with extensive experience in sectors such as the automotive, aerospace, lighting, medical and packaging areas.
The Prototypes Area offers part design and conception services, 3D printing with MJP, FDM and SHS technologies or vacuum casting in silicone moulds. The centre can also offer its customers advanced CNC machining equipment (3 and 5-axis machines), paint booths, part metallisation equipment and technicians specialising in every type of coating.
