Andaltec participates in the R&D project Agropack, which has developed bio-packaging with plastic materials derived from peach and other stone fruit by-products. The objective of this initiative is to bring sustainable packaging to the market while reducing waste and providing an economically profitable use for peach by-products. The biomaterial has been developed with a focus on the production of containers and packaging for fruit and vegetable products, as well as any other packaging-related applications (boxes, bags, containers, etc.).
The project consortium, financed by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the CARM, is composed by the Union of Small Farmers and Stockbreeders of the Region of Murcia (UPA), the environmentalist Lucía López, the SAT ‘Los Marines’, Agromarketing as innovation and communication agent and Andaltec as technological partner.
