Andaltec was responsible for the R&D work for the launch of the company Bioammo, which has brought to market the first cartridges made of biodegradable plastic and loaded with metallic components. The ammunition is comparable in size and weight to existing metallic projectiles on the market.
These cartridges, which are used for hunting and sport shooting, are a unique product on the global market and are patented in more than fifty countries. This product has attracted the attention of the American ammunition manufacturer Winchester.
The use of biodegradable plastic in ammunition offers two significant benefits. From a sustainability perspective, unlike conventional products, it degrades and does not pollute the environment where shots are fired. From a safety perspective, biodegradable plastic ammunition is a significant improvement. These bullets cause much less damage and can help to avoid injuries or fatal accidents that can sometimes result from traditional ammunition.
