CPV4ALL

Solar concentrator that generates thermal and electrical energy

The European project ‘CPV4ALL’ has developed a solar energy concentrator that is capable of generating thermal and electrical energy simultaneously in a highly efficient manner, while also offering a competitive manufacturing cost.

The primary benefit of the device is that it enables the most efficient utilisation of solar energy without the necessity for a substantial solar tracking system. This is made possible by an innovative internal tracking system that works in conjunction with a series of motors driven by dedicated software. This results in an efficiency of 25% in terms of electrical energy for the user’s own consumption and 37.5% in terms of thermal energy for heating water for sanitary use.

This project has been funded by the European Union’s Seventh Framework Programme for Research, Technological Development and Innovation.
