Mission
- Be responsible for R&D for the projects.
- Develop the product according to functional, quality, cost, and timeline specifications.
Responsibilities
- Define the R&D schedule according to all R&D contributions.
- Define the product according to all R&D contributions and manage them as well.
- Develop or obtain the technical specifications for the product.
- Responsible for performing or obtaining calculations, simulations (mechanical, thermal, rheological, optical), and all technical justifications for the product (dimensional chain analysis, test reports, simulation reports, design review reports, etc.).
- Define and manage technical data (BOM, specifications, 3D model, drawing, dimensional chains, calculations and simulations, design justifications) and ensure its availability in the PDM (Product Data Management).
- Lead the CAD technical design following the internal methodology for Catia and PDM tools.
- Ensure intellectual property issues. Patent search and registration.
- Participate in defining the product validation plan.
- Lead the DFMEA and manage the action plan. Attend the PFMEA process and integrate its conclusions.
- Organize design reviews within the client’s organization and with suppliers. Integrate manufacturing constraints.
- Define mock-ups and prototypes and oversee their development according to quality, cost, and time objectives.
- Ensure product optimization and manage necessary modifications.
- Support industrial projects that implement the innovative technology.
- Participate with the purchasing department in supplier selection.
- Participate in QRQC (Quick Response to Quality Concerns) analysis.
- Perform comparative analysis for the technological scope of the project.
Standardization
- Define the standard scope of the product.
- Define the DGL (Standard Design Guidelines), standard components, and standard materials, and validate them with the branch’s standardization manager.
Project Management / Budget
- Contribute to defining the budget for the project’s design activities (resources, external purchases) and validate this with the management (design office manager and project manager).
- Manage design activities and its dedicated team according to this defined budget.
- Manage resources remotely if necessary.
- Manage the timeline of their activities and ensure it aligns with the project schedule.

- Be responsible for Methods and Processes for the project.
- Develop the industrial solutions for the product.
Responsibilities
- Be the Methods and Processes engineer for the projects, as well as the link between the “development team” and the “industrial team”.
- Actively participate in project team activities (PT meetings, QFD, functional analysis, functional and technical specifications, value analysis, analysis of general project risks, process PFMEA, etc.).
- Develop the detailed work schedule for Methods in collaboration with the Industrialization team and the project manager. Conduct a weekly review of this schedule, update it daily, and take corrective actions.
- Organize and manage the collaborators assigned by the prototype workshop manager (Assembly, Molds, Treatments, CNC, etc.).
- Develop and manage the Methods cost budget and specific Methods and Quality investments for the project.
- Regularly validate the development in the project by the Prototype Workshop Manager, experts, and project managers, at least before each phase change, especially during the Manufacturability Validation Committees.
- Conduct continuous analysis of the product design solutions (manufacturability).
- Prepare “make or buy” decisions with the Prototype Workshop Manager and the Project Manager.
- Present the Request for Authorization of Prototype/Series Media Research.
